Introduction to henna

Henna also known as Mehendi, mendhi, mehndi (Mehndika – Sanskrit) is a popular form of body art among women from Indian Subcontinent, Africa and Middle Eastern. Henna is a form of temporary body art to decorate palms, hand, head crown, feet and belly mainly for rituals, wedding ceremony or simply as a form of decorative body art. Henna is also used to dye hair and fingernails.

Henna is a dye prepared from plant known as Lawsonia Inermis. Henna has been widely used for the past 5000 years in both healing and body art decoration from ancient Egypt to ancient Indian Era. Today this rich traditional art has no boundaries in culture, ethnicity, religious and spiritual beliefs and is widely used by both man and women.
